The inevitable has happened: Apple has raised its prices on its MacBooks at the Apple Store. They’re not small increases either—price hikes range from $100 on the MacBook Neo to a whopping $500 on a high-end MacBook Pro. If you’ve been planning on buying a new MacBook but decided to wait, you’ll literally pay a price for waiting.
But there is one place where you can save on a new MacBook purchase right now. This week happens to be Prime Day, and Amazon is offering a nice chunk of change off several MacBook models–in fact, if you consider the new, higher prices at Apple, the Amazon savings are a lot more than before. So if you’re feeling a deep sense of regret for waiting, look at it this way: you’re now saving even more money.
You have to stop waiting and act now or as soon as possible, because those prices on Amazon will eventually go up, too. Amazon has the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Air on sale for $949. This used to have a regular price of $1,099, but Apple increased it to $1,299, so Amazon’s price is $350 lower. Even with Apple’s education price of $1,199, the Amazon deal is still much better.
15-inch MacBook Air
The $15-inch MacBook Air is $1,149 on Amazon, which is also $350 off Apple’s increased price of $1,499. This model has 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD and used to be $1,299.
14-inch MacBook Pro

Apple’s entry-level MacBook Pro is now (gulp) $1,999. When you’re done shaking your head in disbelief, head on over to Amazon, where this laptop is a more sensible $1,549, a $450 savings.
14-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro
The M5 Pro MacBook Pro is $2,034 on Amazon, which is much lower than the new price of $2,499 ($465 lower, to be exact). This model has 24GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.
14-inch M5 Max MacBook Pro
Amazon is selling the M5 Max MacBook Pro for $3,300. This model, with 36GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, is now $4,099 at Apple. That’s a $700 savings at Amazon. Get it now.
16-inch MacBook Pro
