SAVE $108 FOR PRIME DAY
Samsung T9 Portable SSD (1TB)
It’s been forever since we’ve seen a proper deal on portable storage, but Prime Day seems to be a good time for one. Samsung’s T9 1TB portable SSD is down to $179.99, a massive drop from its typical $250 street price during the current global storage shortage. I know it’s hard to stomach spending this much on a 1TB drive, but given the circumstances, it technically qualifies as a deal if you’re in dire need of one.
That pill is a little easier to swallow knowing that the Samsung T9 is easily one of our favorite portable SSDs, as we gave it a glowing 4.5-star rating when we reviewed it. In our test, we found that it delivers on speed and performance, plus the textured surface provides good grip.
The Samsung T9 is able to put out sustained read and write speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s. That’s fast enough to load projects in a blink, edit 4K footage, and move massive files—it’s the ideal drive for someone who’s constantly dealing with large data. And with its USB-C connection, it’s widely compatible with almost all modern devices, including laptops, PCs, gaming consoles, phones, and some digital cameras.
This portable SSD truly is portable, too, measuring just 3.46 inches long by 2.36 inches wide and 0.55 inches thick, and weighing a mere 0.27 pounds. Slip it into your pocket and forget it’s there.
Again, the drive is fantastic, but the price is rough even with this discount. But if you’re in desperate need of a high-performance portable SSD, the T9 hasn’t been this cheap in a while. You’ll be waiting a long, long time before it dips back down below $100 like it used to do—if it ever does again. The bottom line? Right now, $179.99 for the 1TB version of Samsung’s T9 is as good as a win. For more like this, check out our picks for the best Amazon Prime Day tech deals.
